Manual distraction is anything that keeps your hands off the sterring wheel, for example when you pick up your phone to look at a message or when your eating and driving or trying to calm down your baby by waving a toy in his/her face, even putting make up on while driving, are all considered manual distraction, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, distracted driving has a caused of about 424,000 accidents and injuries and about 3,154 fatalities in 2013 alone.
A lot of people like the idea of hands-free phone calls, using a bluetooth or connecting to the aux cord, because it reduces the manual (physical) distractions of picking up and answering the phone.

According to AAA Foundation Traffic and Safty, have found that over ninty percent of drivers know the danger of texting while driving, and yet over one-third of the same people addmited to sending a text message or reading a text message while driving their car in the last thirty days. AAA Foundation also say that in order to prevent accidents while texting and driving "just pull over" in order to keep everyone safe.
Technology has taken over so much that we cant drive from our house to the store without having to picl up our cellphones or changing the radio. I personally was in a car accident, it was raining and I had just pulled out of my parking spot, I was consentrating on the road and my phone beeps, I glace at my phone for a split secound when I look up it was to late I didnt have enough reaction time to brake my car and I hit the car in front of me. Texting and driving isnt a game, its seriously life and death situations, now I think twice before picking up my phone.
